There is a satellite through which, daily, pass all the interbank transactions between London and New York, currencies to the value of billions of pounds – not bank notes, but vulnerable streams of electrons.  It’s operated by SWIFT, guardians of the system on which depends the delicate stability of the world’s currencies.  And Charlie Rose, disaffected mobster boss, is determined to destroy it with the aid of a Soviet Tass correspondent with his own motives and a brilliant yet psychotic computer programmer.  It will be the most sophisticated theft ever.
