  • Book III of The Winter Of The World.   • The blue-painted wizard appeared and spoke to Finnian. "You let a man die today because you couldn't be bothered!" "It wasn't my business." "You think nothing in life is your business!" the wizard howled. "But I'll make it so things will be!" Finnian waited alert, ready to kill if the wizard voiced a curse, but he only looked hard and said: "From now on, as long as you stay in my land, you will aid any man or woman in need of help." That didn't sound so bad..until Finnian discovered the whole realm needed help!

  • Book I of The Heirs of Saint Camber. Evil times had come for the Deryni, the race of humans with magical powers.   • Book II of The Hawk Queen. While the warlike and merciless Aenir wreak havoc upon the territory outside the mountain stronghold of the clans, Sigarni, the Hawk Queen, arrives in a parallel version of her own universe through a gate in space and time.   • The Heavenly Horse is the Dancer, a shining Appaloosa stallion, first of all horses in the Army of One Hundred and Five and guardian of the Courts of the Outermost West. Anor the Executioner, monstrous and fanged, is the servant of the Dark Horse. He comes from the Gates of Death - and if he can, he will destroy the Dancer. Between them stands Duchess, last true mare of the Appaloosa line. With the Dancer, she runs away from the barns of men - but is stalked by Anor and his Harrier Hounds.   • Book II of The Chronicles Of Damar.   • Book III of The Tamuli. Sparhawk has offered freedom to the Troll-Gods trapped in the Blue Rose in exchange for their aid in the fight against Cyrgon, the sinister god of the Cyrgai. The Trolls devour the steaming flesh of the enemies of the Tamuli - until the Cyrgai Generals are inevitably defeated. Then those enemy troops return to dust, magicked as they were from antiquity. But hungry Trolls are the least of Sparhawk's problems. Cyrgon has turned to unspeakable arts of Zemich magic, bringing back to the world the essence of evil, Klael, that was cast out at the beginning of Time by Azash and the Elder Gods. Queen Ehlana has been kidnapped by the mad Lord Scarpa and the Styric magician Zalasta. The price for her return is the Blue Rose.   • Chronicles of Prydain, Book V. When the sword of Dyrnwyn, the most powerful weapon inthe kingdom of Prydain, falls into the hands of Arawn-Death-Lord, Taran, Assistant Pig-Keeper, and Prince Gwydion raise an army to march against Arawn's terrible cohorts. After a winter expedition filled with danger, Taran's army arrives at Mount Dragon, Arawn's stronghold. There, in a thrilling confrontation with Arawn and the evil enchantress Achren, Taran is forced to make the most crucial decision of his life.
