112 Ocean Avenue, Amityville, New York. An inconspicuous house in a sleepy Long Island suburb held a monstrous evil, a terrible phenomenon that stunned the country. It should have been the Lutz’s dream home, but it became a house of horror. After just 28 days, the Lutzes fought blindly, panicking and terror-stricken against the possessive forces of the house and fled: Kathy and Geogre Lutz, their children, the dog and a few hastily grabbed belongings piled into the old van. And even  then, the forces had reached out to grab, to pound hammer blows on the roof and sides of the van, snatch at the brake cables and cut the electrics. But they had got away, they made it through the nightmare to the safe refuge of Kathy’s mother’s rambling suburban house. Free, finally free. But then came the realisation. The Amityville Horror had followed them…For four years after the Lutzes fled the house at 112 Ocean Avenue, they were tormented by its inescapable evil.  Here is the rest of the harrowing tale, told by the Lutz family.
