Elegant and beautiful, Mary was born for controversy and disaster – often the tool of conspirators and with a habit of marrying the wrong men: the sickly King Francis of France; the drunkard homosexual Darnley and the arrogant Lord Bothwell.  John Knox loathed her, and her dwarf secretary Rizzio died for her, stabbed to death in a drunken frenzy by Darnley.  A very good retelling of Mary’s life.
