The author, wife to Sir John Kerr, relives a full and varied life from the bushy suburbs of Sydney to the student quarter of pre-war Paris to being the first Australian to be elected to the International Association of Conference Interpreters, a position which took her frequently to Asia and the Pacific Islands, Samoa, Kyoto, Vailima, India, Burma, French Polynesia…and later, she offers a shrewd  ‘wife’s eye’ view of the dismissal of the Whitlam Government in 1975.
