Compiled to commemorate  W G Manners and Co’s 100 Years on the Kalgoorlie Gold Fields 1895-1995 and coinciding with  Australia’s ‘Year Of The Outback’ in 2002, this is a chance to step back to the turn of the century and see life on the Kalgoorlie goldfields through the eyes of Charles and Nancy Manners at the turn of the century. Taken from preserved writings and diaries, this is life  when the order of the day was self-help, strong ethics and courage. There are also inclusions of memoirs from the Great War. Contains archival photos, contemporary news articles and cartoons – there’s even a metric weights and measures chart for translating imperial into metric.
