  • Lennie Lower was born in Dubbo in 1903 and after school joined the Royal Australian Navy, which he left in circumstances that are somewhat obscure. During the Depression he seems to have led a hobo existence and began contributing humorous material to newspapers, later becoming a full time journalist.
