When Avon lady Peg Boggs calls at a Gothic mansion, she doesn’t expect to find a lonely, unfinished humanoid. Edward is a creation;  the Inventor died before he could give Edward hands, leaving him with appendages of scissors and knives.  Kindly Peg takes Edward home – but his years alone have left him with no knowledge of the perfidies of human behaviour such as spite, lying and jealousy.  Edward repays the community for their initial kindness by trimming hedges, clipping dogs and even as a hair stylist – but then he is framed for a crime and ‘crime’ is something he doesn’t understand. Also starring Vincent Price in his penultimate film role, Anthony Michael Hall and Alan Arkin.
