Ten year old Twinkle, child star, clad in furs and spoilt, is going to be trouble.  Frances is her chaperone,  hired by the studio for a film being shot in England. And Twinkle is not everyone’s darling. She’s suspicious, insecure and a hardened campaigner in getting her own way.  She makes enemies like other children make mud-pies.  But Frances, a widow with grown children struggling to get into the employment market, understands the fears and unhappiness that turn Twinkle into little Miss Temper. When there is a series of attempts on Twinkle’s life that result in a death on the set, Frances finds that Twinkle has no-one to fight for her – very well, Frances will fight for her. But Twinkle seems more than capable of taking care of herself!
