Rear Admiral Thomas raises him to command of the destroyer Warren, a recommissioned World War I 'bucket'. Masterman makes fun of Roberts' new command - and then finds himself assigned to the Warren as Executive Officer - under Roberts. And now, Masterman must face the realities of war...
