  • Book II of The Saga Of The Trillium.  Three princesses are endowed with the awesome powers of the Trillium Talismans:  Haramis is devoted to the study of magic and science; Anigel and her husband King Atar govern their provinces with love; Kadiya is still wild, impetuous and careless.  Then Kadiya loses her Talisman in the deep waters off the Windlorn Isles and Anigel's husband and children are kidnapped by the mysterious sorcerer Portolanus, who demands Anigel's Talisman as ransom.  The world begins to lose balance.  Storms rage and war looms.   • Book I of The Boreal Moon. Conrig Wincantor, Prince Heritor of Cathra, has a to unite the whole island of High Blenholme under Cathran sovereignty. He has so far been thwarted in this ambition by his cautious, aging father, King Olmigon, who, though weak with illness, still clings firmly to the reigns of the government. Now Conrig has hit upon a scheme that will convince the Lords that his plan can suceed. He has formed an alliance with Ullanoth, princess of the remote northern province of Moss and a fearsome sorceress. With her help his army will have the advantage it needs to subdue the only domain refusing to sign his Edict of Sovereignty. But before Olmigon will give his consent he insists on making a pilgrimage to the Oracle of Emperor Bazekoy, there to ask the one question permitted to a dying monarch, which the Emperor must answer truthfully. Meanwhile, Ullanoth tends her own schemes. Posessing the talent to call on the unearthly powers of the Beaconfolk, mysterious otherworldy beings who appear as lights in the sky, her power is undeniable. But the Lights are fickle, and their interference in human affairs unpredictable. If Ullanoth calls on them to help Conrig, they are likely to extract an unforeseeable price.  
  • Book II of the Galactic Milieu series. As the 21st century closes a growing group of rebels plot to declare the human planets independent from  the Milieu and end a 30 year association.  They are aided by the insane Fury who seeks to rule the Galaxy itself.  A key figure in Fury's scheme is Dorothea Macdonald - possessed of metapsychic powers, she only wants a quiet life on the planet Caladonia.  She rejects Fury's overtures and the monster vows to destroy her.  When the Milieu become aware of her powers she is forced to leave her family and use her power for the benefit of all.  At the Metapsychic Institute, she discovers that one day she will rule Caladonia. When she meets Jack the Bodiless she understands that his mind is the only one approaching hers in its power.  Together they are the only hope of defeating the rebels.,,and all the while, Fury plots to kill them both. After initiating a civil war, the pair intend to take the throne and rule the realm themselves. The King's unlikely champion is his royal intelligencer, Deveron, a young man secretly possessed of magical talents. But Deveron is torn between loyalty to his king and his own conscience.
