Bill Doolin, the Kid, is on his way home after being released from jail and when the train he is travelling on is robbed of a payroll by his old boyhood friends, finds himself accused of being involved with the robbery. Turning outlaw, the Kid hightails it to the high country and joins up with the Dalton gang. When the gang is decimated in a daring daylight robbery, the Kid takes over the remains of the gang and they hide out on a ranch. Can the love of the rancher's good daughter reform the Cimarron Kid?
