J.C., deserted by his mother, spends the holidays at her old family home, the lush tropical estate known as Christobel. There's also his brother August, his stepfather Marcus and Marcus' new wife Justine. But something's wrong. The Cane Cave where the rum kegs are kept feels strangely terrifying - but it was once J.C.'s favourite place. Justine is distressed and attempt suicide. Marcus fears for her sanity but realises her anguish and J.C.'s fears are similar. Is someone trying to hurt them?
