Arnhem: September 1944 - world War II  had almost reached its conclusion. It was agreed that a single army should be given priority of the supplies to enact a plan that would deal the final blow and win the war by the end of 1944. The plan was to unleash the largest airborne assault in the history of warfare.  To fly deep into the heart of industrial Germany and capture five key bridges. Ultimately that final bridge proved to be a bridge too far.  Burma:  Japanese occupation of Burma in 1942 had cut off the last land route by which the Allies could deliver aid to the Chinese Government. However, it was not until the spring of 1944 that the Allies were able to attempt the reconquest of Burma; it was to prove a hard fought battle in difficult terrain and  against strong Japanese resistance. In the end, disease, starvation, monsoon rains and the Allied Army proved to be too much for the Japanese.
