This miniseries begins with the young developing mind of a burgeoning madman, following Hitler through his formative years and his evolution into the man who exploited the nation that cried out for a leader. Through the birth of the Nazi Party, the failed Beer Hall Putsch, the charge of treason which turned him into a national figure, his time in Landsberg Prison and the writing of Mein Kampf then his reintroduction to politics as the leader of the National Socialists - this is the rise of Hitler from a wayward young man to presidential candidate to Chancellor. As the Reichstag burns in 1933, everyone who was pulled into Hitler's vortex realises the hideous truth of what has been created - and it's too late to change it.
