In a futuristic society where corporations have replaced countries, a violent futuristic game known as Rollerball is the recreational sport of the world, used by corporations to control the populace. One player, Jonathan E., fights for his personal freedom and threatens the corporate control. When the corporate powers try to force him into retirement to quell his individual popularity, he refuses. This leads him to fight against the system that he initially represented.
