Overweight frumpy housewife Ruth discovers her accountant husband is having an affair with  beautiful, self-centred romance novelist Mary - and after an epic row at a family dinner, Bob leaves her to move in with Mary - and Ruth begins to plot her revenge - on both of them! In a series of hilarious manoeuvres - and with a little help from Ruth's children and her new friends Hooper and Olivia - Mary and Bob's life together and separately begin to fall apart.  Also stars Ed Begley Jr, Linda Hunt and Sylvia Miles.
