At the Blue Ribbon Laundry, elderly worker, Adelle Frawley is gruesomely killed when a industrial folding machine, known as "The Mangler," inexplicably pulls her in, despite safety features designed to prevent such an accident.  Detective John Hunton investigates, finding the laundry owner, Bill Gartley  suspiciously unconcerned, while more accidents occur.
