The Mogul: Vic DeSalvo and his brother Goody are successful New Jersey trucking magnates, but Vic wants to make it big as a Hollywood producer. His scripts and ideas are turned down by every network executive...until he meets an executive at a second-rate company who has just been fired for promoting a show that attracted zero viewers. To avenge himself, he accepts Vic's script and the result is so awful that the director and star walk out. Vic takes over the reins himself - and then he learns from Francine, a statistician at a ratings agency, that the ratings can be manipulated to make Vic's show a success! Also stars Rhea Perlman. It Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time: Sweeney, a playwright whose career is on the decline, spends much of his time wheedling money and beer out of his artistic friend Moriarty. The highlight of his week is sex with his ex, now remarried. How far will he go to conquer his beloved once again? It's up to a team of New York cops to try and make sense of the ineptly staged kidnapping managed by Sweeney! Look for John Candy as a bumbling police officer. Also stars Isaac Hayes and Yvonne De Carlo.
