Escape From Jupiter: David Ogilvy

When a volcanic eruption destroys the mining colony on Jupitrer's moon Io, Michael, Kumiko, Kingston, Anna and Gerard, with a small group of surviving adults, are forced to flee their crumbling world. Seeking shelter on the derelict space station KLK5, floating above Io, they convert it into a makeshift spacecraft and head off in a desperate attempt to reach Earth.
