Book III of Catteni. Kris Bjornsen and her Catteni slaver lover Zainal were among the thousands of slaves dumped on an uninhabited world. Now she has a home, a child and a respected place in a successful community. But she feels the call to escape and rejoin the struggle. The colonists' plans are ambitious - a faked 'shipwreck' gives them the chance to steal a spacecraft, allowing them to follow the reports of freedom fighters on all the other worlds enslaved by the mysterious Eosi. Even among the Catteni, chosen servants to the Eosi, an underground rebellion exists. The colonists know they can disguise themselves as Catteni and even speak the language - and they are ready for a daring attempt.
