Merry Hall 1.  Ignoring the advice of his London friends, here is a  comedic chronicle of  Nichols' impulsive purchase and and restoration of a run-down Georgian house and its overgrown, neglected gardens in post-war England, dealing with local eccentric characters, and learning the art of horticulture.
