Mrs Jeffries Appeals the Verdict: Emily Brightwell

Mrs Jeffries XXI. After a perfectly decent local woman is killed during a robbery, Inspector Witherspoon receives a surprising visit from a stranger named Blimpey Groggins. He claims his best friend was convicted of the crime and this peaceable chap wouldn't even know how to fire a gun. With his friend due to be hanged in three weeks, Blimpey is desperate to find the real killer. The trail's gone cold, the crime is allegedly solved and the evidence is a mess - so Mrs Jeffries has her work cut out for her.
