The events in this book began on Sunday June 29 1952 in Newcastle, New South Wales and are to do with an event into which Peter and Helen Rokeby were plunged on their way home to Cessnock from a birthday weekend in Sydney. The names are fictitious but 'Dr. Evans' is Dr John Smyth and 'Dr Matheson' is Sr William Charlton. Set in and around the Royal Newcastle Hospital - now sadly no more.
