Dr Amy Cumpston McGrath (O.A.M, J.P.) was educated at Telopea Park High School, Canberra and at Sydney University. In 1970-71 she travelled to the U.S. and the U.K. respectively, on U.S. State Department and British Council grants. She was the founding secretary of the Australian Playwrights Conference, and was twice appointed to the Sydney University Senate. This, her third book of poems was inspired by a holiday in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales.
