Uncle Samson: Beverley Nichols

Nichols shares personal views on mid-century United States culture, travel, and society in a sharp journalistic style.  Among his experiences is a visit to Walt Disney at his studios, a sad meeting with Charlie Chaplin during the Hollywood  'reds under the bed' era and he explores diverse topics like early Alcoholics Anonymous, American comic strips, race relations, and politics.  A a sequel of sorts to his earlier 1928 book The Star-Spangled Manner.
