  • Book II of Legends of the Riftwar.  Crydee was the place of heavy action and the one place they were not going.   But where would Durine, Kethol and Pirojil go?  Kethol would surely find the three mercenaries a job with someone who needed men who knew which was the business end of a sword.  After all, they'd fought the Bugs, the Tsurani and the goblins.  A few months garrison duty is a welcome respite, then they land what seems to be a cushy job - protect a lady and her husband and deliver them safely to the city of LaMut.  It should all have been so simple...Cover art by Geoff Taylor.

  • Book I of Conclave Of Shadows. Four four days and nights Kieli has waited on the remote mountain peak of Shatana Higo for the gods to grant him his manhood name.  Exhausted and despairing, he is woken by the sharp claws of a rare silver hawk piercing his arm, although later he's not sure if it ever happened.  On his return home, Keili founds his village blazing and his people slaughtered.  Although it means certain death he throws himself into the battle - and survives.  A distant voices echoes in his mind: Rise up and be a talon for your people...   • Book II of Conclave of Shadows. Rescued, recruited and trained by the mysterious Conclave of Shadows, Tal Hawkins has become one of their most effective operatives. But to destroy the nemesis who annihilated his people, the evil Duke of Olasko, Tad must sell his soul. Masquerading as a noble from the far western territory of the Kingdom of the Isles, he must insinuate himself into the duke’s confidence and carry out his most heinous and dangerous commands - even though it means betraying his own moral code. Driven to the brink, Tal eventually defies the duke - and is imprisoned and left to die in the Fortress of Despair. But the determined young man will not be beaten.
