  • Horse-loving sixteen year old Dinah Markham helps her Aunt Zoe run a riding school in Brenford, tending and training the ponies and teaching youngsters how to ride. Illustrated by Yvonne Bulgin.
  • This novel spans 130 years and follows the line of women of the Wrotham family, beginning with Sabrina in 1806. The daughter of a socially disgraced, sadistic roué, she is sponsored into 'Society' by her step-aunt - after having had some good manners vigorously instilled in her and her tomboyish ways smoothed out. Her brother Prior's marriage and production of children play a part in keeping the Wrotham name going. The next Wrotham woman is Clare - her brother Anthony's marriage to Harriet brings Charlotte to the line and the last is Gillian Rose, known as 'Jill'. The diaries and letters of the women are fictitious but the times in which the story is set are not, and many historical characters and events of England are brought to the story. As the generations overlap, with the members of each generation subscribing to the beliefs of their day, there is little sentimental romance involved - just a very good story, tinted with gentle romance and enhanced by the backdrop of historic reality.
  • Over 150  original images guaranteed to cross your eyes, baffle your brain and frustrate your friends - there's even one dated from the time of the Ancient Romans. In colour and black and white.
  • Hiding under the witness protection programme, Rick Jarmin gets nervous when his old flame Marianne recognises him as her fiancè who vanished years ago. But before he can assume a new identity, the man he put in jail is released and comes to pay his respects. Rick and Marianne are thrown together on the run across the country, barely evading the police, gangsters and an amorous veterinarian. Also stars David Carradine, Joan Severance  and Bill Duke.
  • Persuaded by a beautiful Russian Countess to help her flee her loathsome fiancè, Captain Jonathan Clark sails from San Francisco to Alaska, evading cunning rival Captain Portugee - who will unite with Clark to defeat the Russian menace, Prince Semyon.
  • Hundreds of hopefuls congregate at a cattle call for Broadway dancers. Sour director, Zach and his brusque assistant whittle down the ranks until they're left with 16 dancers. Each one has a story - some are tragic, some are comic - and explain their love of dance. Tension mounts when Cassie - once both a big star and the director's lover but now desperate for a part - auditions. But Zach must choose only the best for his show. Musical.
  • In 1957 Odhams Press lost the rights to use any and all Disney characters, meaning that their incredibly popular and long-running title Mickey Mouse Weekly was forced to close. Not every character in the comic was owned by Disney though, and Odhams used everything they still owned in a new weekly called Zip. There were two Zip annuals produced. The first came out in 1958 and is known as the 1959 annual, followed by a second one dated 1959 but known as the 1960 annual. These are the only two Zip annuals; for unknown reasons Odhams decided not to continue the series. This is a very high quality children's annual: Stories include: Nigel Tawny, Explorer - The Adventure Of The Lazy Lobster; Skippy: The Capture; Brett Brand - The Golliwog Mystery; Kid Brother; Touchdown - Operation Bowman; Nigel Tawny - The Windmill; The Kellaway Touch; Brett Brand - Monkey Business; Skippy and the Road Hog; Killer Cuda; Touchdown - The Big Illusion; Nigel Tawny - Obi; The Story of Samuel Plimsoll. There are also comic strips, games, puzzles and things to make. Fabulous artwork - see gallery pictures for examples. Verso front and back boards and endpapers are two different 'board' games. Some cartoons in full colour, others in monochrome.
  • Even in these days of X-Box and IPhones, there'll be some who'll remember when annuals such as these were eagerly looked for in the Christmas gifts - full  of stories, games, puzzles and riddles. Schuster; Foes Of The Forest, Charles Hamilton (creator of Billy Bunter) ; Sports Club, Robert Bateman; Lovell On The War-Path, Owen Conquest; Shaghra The Leader, John Bancroft; The Flight of the Strato Queen, Leonard Gribble; The Guardian Of Devil's Cave, D.L.G.
